Building a website

When building a website the cheapest possible way you can do it is to get yourself a Domain name, get some hosting space, install WordPress to your server, choose a free theme and off you go. Sound easy? Unfortunately a little to easy. However easy anyone says it is, the truth be know, if you want a professional looking optimized site, there is a vast amount of information to learn and a huge investment in time to learn it. There are many cheep design platforms around at the moment, but are they really that cheep? After all the tutorials that you will pay for and the time it takes, you may find that it would have been much cheaper to pay someone else to build it for you.

Our Prices

As you can see below its very difficult to give a rough average price for a website, there is so many variables. Just to give you a rough idea. A content based four page website with a blog built in, registered with the search engines and basic SEO and including one years hosting space would be from £350 if you provide the graphics and text. Needless to say we are competitive and will only accurately quote after a thorough consultation with our clients.

Website Budget Considerations

  • Consider your time investment. Instead of doing all or any of the following yourself, would your time be better spent marketing or producing your product.
  • What part of the website building process can you do yourself?
  • Would it be more cost effective in the long run to hire someone to do all or part of the work?
  • do you have the knowledge, Technologies and time in place to make your own web pages or will you have to invest time and money to aquire the proper skills, software and technologies? Is this efficient use of time to save some money?

Website Content

  • Who will create the initial website content?
  • Who will create and manage future site content?

Website Graphics

A website needs to include a certain amount of graphics. It’s not necessary to go over board on this, however most sites do have a logo and a branding header and photos.

  • Do you have graphics suitable for the web already?
  • Can you create your own graphics, or will you need to hire someone to design graphics for you?

Other Website Costs to Consider

  • Have you selected a webspace that can grow with your website?
  • What future expansion of the website are you considering?
  • Are there some features your target audience really expect?
  • Are you going to fulfill the purpose of the website with this budget?
